Marx Brothers in Toledo, May 1940!
The Marx Brothers made a stop in Toledo on their brief “Scenes from Go West” tour in May of 1940.

Orchard Inn (“Since 1949”), formerly Brady’s Bar. Located on the northwest corner of Sylvania Avenue and Bowen.
94.5 WXKR: Classic Rock
In 1990 WOSE became WXKR “X-94.5”, a classic rock station started by James Lorenzen. In March 1996 in an attempt to compete with Buzz 106.5 the station became “94.5 K-Rock, Rock’s New Perspective.” It didn’t go well. The classic rock format returned February 2, 1998.
Brewed Awakenings, 2636 W. Central.
Opened 1995-96. Closed February 3, 2009. Known for Patrick McGee’s Open-Mic Night the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of each month at 8pm. “Toledo’s oldest continuing Music Open-Mic!” Reopened in 2009 as Ground Level Coffeehouse. Closed November 11, 2010. Reopened as Toledo International Market. Closed. The location began as a single structure. Was added to later on its west side (Central Electric and Figurama).
McDonald’s, 3015 Holland-Sylvania Rd.
Holland-Sylvania near Central Avenue. Built 1970. Demolished. Now Sylvania Walk Shoppes. A new McDonalds was built next door (south), where Frisch’s once stood.
Plantation Motel, 5849 Alexis Rd.
Built c1959. Closed c2003. Demolished c2004.
