Ken R Music, 1806 Madison Avenue

Ken R. Deutsch (“Ken R”) is a former Toledo-based radio broadcaster, jingle producer, and longtime enthusiast of the American radio-jingle tradition whose studio at 1806 Madison Avenue served as a production center from 1985-2000.

Whitney & Currier Building, 515 Madison Avenue

The Whitney & Currier Building is the six-story building right of center between the two-story Northern Bank building (center at Madison and Superior) and the four story Doyle & Lewis Building. Note the clock in front of the building. The ten-story Home Bank Building (former site of the Toledo Club building) is on the far right at Madison and Huron. Gainsborough Studios, 1221 Madison Avenue

Gainsborough Studios was located on the southeast corner of Madison and 13th, formerly the site (front yard) of the Haunted House. The address of this corner was changed over the years, from 233 to 1209 to 1217 to 1221. Various businesses occupied this space including Charles L. Lewis Studio (1904-20), George B. Sperry (1911-13), Donna J. Tenney Interiors (1924-25) and Carl F. Asmus (Insurance) (1926-28). Site is currently a parking lot.
