Bouton’s was located on the northeast corner of Lagrange and Huron Streets. The site later became Mickey Finn’s c1996.


Was located on the north side of Central just west of Holland-Sylvania. Likely demolished when Kmart was built in 1967.

Formerly Sid Ross’ Captain’s Inn and the Gigolo Nite Club (owned by Evan H. Loewenstein). A Wendy’s Restaurant currently occupies the site.

Owned by Sidney Ross. Opened in 1967. Closed c1970. Formerly the Ko-Z Club Bar. Was briefly The Brittany (1973-74).

Whit’s End was a live music venue located on the southwest corner of Airport Highway and Fries Avenue. Whit’s End was owned by Frank Pertz and was previously known as Diego’s Restaurant and Cantina (pre-1993). Closed c2000. Became Club Baja for some time. Building demolished c2015. Mobile Lube Express currently occupies the site.


Famous for its takeout shrimp, The Spot was owned by Gilbert and Mayme Turner. Their son Nelson managed the restaurant and bar. The Spot was one of many structures that fell victim to the City of Toledo’s massive urban renewal project on Dorr Street in the mid-1970s. According to an August 30, 2006 article in the Blade, “362 homes and storefronts, two theaters, a bowling alley, and a number of offices were demolished within 2 1/2 years.”
