In 1973 Boogie Records opened in the former Kenwood Barber Shop located on the southeast corner of Central Avenue and Haughton Drive, just west of Douglas Road. The shop entrance is slightly hidden by the phone booths. Note the barber shop pole to the right of the shop window (above the Mercedes).

In 1980 Boogie Records relocated to the new Westgate Meadows shopping center. Toucan Records took over the former Boogie at 2629 W. Central in 1982. Special Records took over that same location in late 1984.

In 1985 Boogie Records again relocated to Westgate shopping center (Westgate Mall).

The last day of business at Boogie Records was February 29, 2004. Soon after Pat O’Connor opened Culture Clash Records, located at 4020 Secor Road.
