In the 1970s a new station was built and the name was changed to Gastown. Gastown was a subsidiary of Marathon.
Not our Gastown, but very similar in design. Small booth in the center. The ice cooler is in about the same place as ours was, but facing the opposite way.
1980. Gastown. Demolished c1988 and Speedway built. Speedway was a subsidiary of Marathon.

4-2026. Fence within a fence. Rumor has it that a new Speedway will be built, and it appears by the way the fence it laid out that it will take up more real estate. Speedway (Emro Marketing) has been looking to rebuild since 2024, when the Sylvania Township Board of Zoning Appeals rejected a variance request. Image source: TLF
