6400 Block, Central Avenue. (South Side)

Duplex, 2931 Moffat Rd.

This duplex was located on the west side of Moffat Road, south of Central Avenue. It was one among many homes demolished to make way for the US 23/Central Avenue interchange in 1961/62. 2931 is a guess at the address in relation to the property located across the street in 1959 which was 2932 Moffat (now 2936).

Greenwood Drive

Greenwood Drive no longer exists. The US 23/Central Avenue interchange construction in 1962 erased Greenwood Drive and the homes that lined it.

Sound Asylum Records, 2582 Monroe Street

Built c1921 as Hi-Speed Gas Station (later E.E. Moore’s Hi-Speed Station). Might have been a laundromat in the late ’40s/early ’50s.

Sylvania Township Fire Station No.2, 6448 W. Central Ave.

Emmanuel Congregation of the Evangelical Church, 3690 Centennial Rd.

Built c1938. Demolished c1969. Other names associated with this property: Flynn, Sherman, Toledo Concrete.

Miller Family Home, 7831 Sylvania Ave.

The story of the Miller family home, along with the story Alta Miller, her family history, and her murder in 1935, is well researched and told in great detail by Sylvania author and historian Gayleen Gindy in her 2024 publication, A Sylvania Family’s Tragedy: The Murder of Alta Miller.
