Lynn’s

West Toledo shopping plaza to be turned into Sheetz
“Sheetz is leasing the property, including the former location of Eddie Lee’s Restaurant, a person with knowledge of the situation told WTOL 11, and while the deal is not yet finalized, it is likely to be set in stone by the end of the year. Eddie Lee’s closed when its owners retired in 2024. According to Lucas County property records, the Nantucket Drive property was transferred to Grimon Properties Limited, which also owns Omni Plaza, in May 2025.” – wtol.com (8-25-2025)
Building on grounds would be end of era
With Sheetz looking at possibly building on the grounds of the former Eddie Lee’s Restaurant, I feel compelled to share the history of that building. My late father, Gerald Rabideau, envisioned, designed, and built the building. Many knew my father as the owner and operator of the famous Lynn’s Restaurant on Lewis Avenue for over 30 years, but what many do not know is that he built the new building on Nantucket, which he modeled after the architecture of Mount Vernon. He opened it under the name Lynn’s Mount Vernon and briefly operated it before selling it to Eddie Lee, who went on to have great success for over 40 years. It is the end of an era and a sad moment to see it possibly go from our community. – MARSHA RABIDEAU-DREES (Toledo Blade, 8/31/2025)
